My Labs
How much do labs cost?
For cash pay, pricing is transparent — you'll see the exact price before your labs are drawn. Click here for cash pay prices.
If you're using insurance, we can't tell you what your insurance will cover. Every plan is different. We recommend calling your insurance company to ask about your preferred lab and your coverage before your draw.
Will I get a surprise bill?
If you use insurance, it's possible. Insurance coverage for labs varies by plan, and that relationship is between you and your insurance company — we don't control it and can't predict it. We encourage you to compare our cash-pay price to what your insurance would charge you.
Paying cash? You will never get a surprise bill.
How long until I get my results?
If you order labs through us, you'll typically come back on day 8 to review your results and can walk out with medicine that same day.
If you use an outside lab through insurance, turnaround depends entirely on your insurance company and that lab — not us. This is one reason many patients choose cash pay: it's simpler, and we handle everything for you.
Where do I get my labs drawn?
For cash pay, we draw on-site or at LabCorp; this is your choice and you will never have to chase down results. We do that for you!
For insurance, we can draw your labs but will use our preferred vendor. Your plan usually has a preferred lab vendor — call your insurance company to find out which one. If you use an outside lab, you'll need to log into that lab's website, get a PDF of your results, and email it to us. We're not able to accept screenshots.
Do I have to fast before my labs? Some labs may require fasting. We'll try to let you know ahead of time. There are other requirements for labs; again, we’ll try to let you know ahead of time. What if my labs need to be redrawn? Sometimes labs need to be repeated — for example, insurance often wants to see two testosterone draws before approving coverage. Repeat labs follow the same guidance as your first draw.
How do I get my results? In person, at a visit with your doctor. We don't deliver results by phone, text, or portal. The one exception: if you use an outside lab through insurance, you'll get your results from that lab's portal, then send them to us. If you have difficulty getting a copy of your labs, you may consider paying cash and we handle retrieving your labs!
Can I use labs I already had done somewhere else? Maybe. If your labs are within the last 6 months, we'll take a look. But most outside labs don't test everything we need to safely manage your treatment, so there's a good chance you'll still need a new draw with us.
